Time to Move

This is Queen street. Possibly the most busiest street in New Zealand. It's busier than this when it's weekday but I took this photo on Sunday. Don't look busy at all, quiet New Zealand.

Bold Red

I walked pass this building painted in red, it caught my eyes. I thought well I could do something with this. I lift my camera up to my eye but it looked so plain so there should be something in there. My friend should have been in it but he just rushed off without waiting for me. Well, I always have something hehe, me shadow, a parked car's shadow, and that pipe. One more thing, the late afternoon sun light made the color look richer and bolder.

How Fortunate Was I?

I woke up this moring feeling so weird. I thought I woke up once before. Something just told me I missed something important. I checked the time on my phone and then a timetable on a pin-up board right in front of my bed. All I could say was "damn, I'm in deepshit." I didn't know what to do. I got up and read for information on the timetable I thought to myself I had been putting much effort into this and I didn't wanna miss it. I just went to do the washing and put clothes on and knocked on my roommate's, Wazi, bedroom door and asked him to give me a lift to the place. Big thank to him. It was around 10am and the traffic was still bad and the rain kept pouring, light rain though. I was so frustrated on the car. I wanted to cry but I couldn't. After sometime I calmed myself down and asked Wazi "you know how to get sick in few hours?" He didn't say anything but laughed. I thought that idea was not gonna work. After half an hour I got to the place. I jumped out of the car. I almost got to the place I wanted to go but then I saw my classmate. On the top of my head, I thought I wasn't the only one. As I walked up the stair I saw people hanging out in front of the place and I wondered again did I get time wrong. I asked the guy I just saw and he said "The exam has been postponded." I was so relieved. That was 2 hours exam and I was almost 1 hour late but as the exam info said I could enter the exam before half way through, I had raced against time with Wazi to get to the exam room.

Later on, I found out that the power was cut due to some reasons which I didn't know. So we don't have power in the South, East, and Central Auckland and I'm in the North ^^

Settlers Of Catan

This is a game that we played last nite at a tea shop. It's called "Settlers of Catan", an German board game invented by Klaus Teuber and introduced to us by my German roommate, Fabian. It is very similar to those computer strategic games but the winning point is it is more "socializing" than the ones on computers. It was my first time to play it but not too bad coz out of 4 people the top score was 4 points. 3 players got the top score hahah and I was one of them. Actually, we didn't finish it because we had to pick someone. My settlers are the orangee ones :)

Today Exam

It turned out that I miss alot of stuff. We were all supposed to get all seminar papers written by everyone in the class b'coz it was gonna turn up in the exam and they were sent by email but damn' I didn't get any at all, it's just weird. I just found out from a friend of mine before the exam began. After knowing it, I was so nervous, frustrated, and mad with my lectures and I was so gonna email them after the exam. The exam questions came out. After a few minutes of reading, I was like *phew* hehe. We had like 10 (as the number of students in the class) and we had to pick one of 'em to answer. I scanned all the seminar questions and found one that I was familiar with. The other 3 questions were taken from the class notes. Even more lucky one of that 3 questions was so related to this post. Man, i was so lucky. Howeva, I didn't do well for the rest so I guess it was just ok. All questions were kinda "discuss" type so we had to write and write and it was killing my hand. I don't use my handwriting at in the last few years. Too bad eh.

Anyways, 2006 world cup's first match is on tomorrow morning here, 3am. My roommate, Wazi, asked me to get up and watch it but don't know if I'll be able to get up or not and someone wanted to bet lolz. Oh gosh, I should be doing my reading for the next exam on 12th but still procrastinating here lolz.

Words of A Man

I woke up one morning after a drunken night I saw this note, which i had written, on my fone.

"I know this is hard to believe but I really have this feeling for you. After all these years, 9 years have passed I'm still thinking about you and still wondering what you are doing. Everytime I think of you I visualize a picture of you in my head and I am weak I can't do anything but thinking about you and want to be with you as I used to be. I never thought I could live but now I am still breathing effortfully and living and hoping to see your face again, no matter when will it be. That is all I am asking for. I really think this is not too much for a man who wants to see the woman who he loved the most in his life"

Hope this is not too lame.

Who's gonna win FIFA world cup 2006?

I went to attend a usability study yesterday afternoon, which I had to play with some software and they captured the screen in order the see how users interact with some certain objects on the screen and that test was prepared by my classmate and mine is today. Well, it's not about it. After the expirement, there're some questions related to the expirement except the last question. The question was "Who's gonna win the world cup in Germany?" I was like what was that supposed to mean hehe. The guy who set up the test is from Germany so not to disappoint him, my answer to the question was "Obviously, not Cambodia" and then i handed the questionnaire paper back to him. You know what, the first thing he checked was that question. "Come on, I want the country name that will win the game" he said to me. And I was like "Okkk". Without saying the name of the country which I think they're gonna win, I spelled B R A Z I L. The last thing he said was why everyone picks Brazil. Hehehe.

What a tiring day!

I got home at 2am in the morning. I was hanging out with friends at their place and bubble tea shop even thought I got a presentation to make tomorrow. After I got home I had some apartment chores to do. I had to clean the bathroom but it was too late and everyone was sleeping so I thought I should clean the sink and toilet first and left the shower for tomorrow morning. After finishing the cleaning, I started to work on my presentation slides, which I hadn't done anything at all. After a few hours I finished it *phew* but I was too dead and I thought I wasn't gonna to able to give the talk so I emailed my lecturers with powerpoint file as an attachment and said I wasn't gonna turn up for my talk and hoped that they would give me some marks as I had done the slides. Just after, I hit the bed but couldn't sleep at all. I got up and surfed the net for while before hitting the bed again. I set alarm to 9am and went off to bed again. I wake up at 8am so it was like only an hour sleep. I got up and checked the email. I got an email from one of the 2 lecturers of the course saying I had to give speech otherwise I got no points at all in presentation part. I was like ok. I went to shower and did the shower cleaning at the same time. I got out of the shower, changed, and did some practice for the talk. Honestly, I wasn't ready at all. How could I be ready in that kinda situation? I traveled to school. I got to class and got my computer, projector, and my slides set up. And then I was giving my talk on my topic. Everyone looked bored and I felt bad but my lecturers looked so interested in my topic. 40 minutes was gone and I was done with my talk but still had some questions needed to be answered. Before leaving the class my lecture kept telling me that I did really well. That was good but what I was expecting was the other around because I was too tired and so not prepared. Lolz it was just unbelievable that the feedback was very opposite to what I thought.

After that I had to call nz immigration service about my student visa. What I was asking for was student visa but what i got was student permit. I guess everything is sorted out now. I had my lunch after that and went for my COMPSIC732 class. After class, I thought I should have some relax so movie should be good since the tickets are also cheap on Tuesday. That's cool eh. I called and texted all my friends and after all we watched "Ringer". It is a good movie. We all were enjoying it.

Movie was finished and we had to head back home and now i'm here write this post heheh.Well, I'd like to call it a day now ^^ G'nite.

Boredom is killing

I've been sitting here in my room all day today *sigh* was trying to finish these 2 assignments. I was supposed to go out and party with friends coz one of my friends is leaving for Cambodia on Monday but I couldn't because if I didn't finish 'em today I would be in big trouble for sure. Well, after I finished these assignments all my friends went out to city already I really want to go but 1) i don't have my car with me now and 2) I don't wanna bother any one of them to come and pick me up. I'm just so so so bored. No word could explain how bored I am right now. Supposedly, I shouldn't be home after finishing these big assignments. I should be out and get pissed.

A Man With No Identity

Apart from natural identities, I've been without any identity for 2 weeks now. I lost my wallet on the trip back to Auckland. There were my driving license, which is the most important actually, bank card, student id, gym card, 10 nz dollars and 30 us dollars, and other trivial stuff in it. Even worse, my passport is at nz immagration service waiting to be processed. I got a call from a guy who got my wallet he said he was gonna send me the wallet but it's been almost a week and i still don't get it yet *sigh* Well, it's no big deal. I'll just have to spend my some of my time and some bucks to re-make the them all.

I've been having bad time lately. So many bad things happened to me since the beginning of this year. It's like a curse or something. heheh can't blame on it. Don't know what to do though. I'll just do the good things and keep my figers crossed and hoping something good will happen to me and everyone around me.

Back To Uni Life

I was away for the last 5 days on a holiday. We made a trip to Wellington and other places, which I will write in my trip journal later and post it up. The trip was so tiring yet the most fun trip ever. Anyways, I'm now in school lab procrastinating with my korean classmate. I'm trying to keep up with my assignment but I'm not in the mood to do it at all. This week we still have a break and actually this break is for working on assignments and the likes. Well, just thinking of the number of assignments due after break is killing me already. Wish me a good luck ppl.

What a Long Day!

Even though it's a holiday, i had to get up at about 9am like i always do for school day coz I had to join lunch with my uncle, aunty and my granny. My granny just got Auckland from Melbourne for a visit but my uncle and aunty in-law are here, they stay in Tauranga. The lunch, but brunch for me hehe, started at like 12pm. We went for Yum Cha in Viaduct. The food was nice but the restaurant were damn crowded. After lunch, we went for a ride and visits some of my aunty in-law's relatives. Well, i was kinda boring for me and it took like hours. I was like when we had to go back *sigh* nah i was just thinking to myself. The worse thing is that they spoke the laugage that i don't understand. They, i mean everyone except me, speak mandarine, vietnamese, and including the chinese dialect that most Chinsese Cambodian people speak but what i understand are Cambodian and English. I was just sitting there and kept smilling. And my grandmom said how hopeless i am that i didn't learn how to speak chinese heheh i couldn't help coz i don't like it. After a few hours, they went back to hotel, skycity hotel, and they asked me to stay for dinner with them. I couldn't refuse even though i wanted to head home early. I was like Ok but i had to do one thing. I was my plan. I went to downtown heading for a bookstore because i was planning to get a Python programming textbook. After i got a book i got back to the hotel and then like half an hour later I went off to dinner at Denny's which close to the hotel where they stayed. There were 4 cousins. At first we are like strangers. We didn't talk much unless neccessary but after a while who knows we started talking and it wasn't boring anymore. This little guy is the cuttiest but every 10 words he says 5 are in chinese and 5 are in english lolz that was cute though and this girl, my other cousin, wouldn't stop talking. She asked me this and that hehhe. Well, they're all nice. While in the restaurant, I got a text from a friend of mind asking me to come with 'em for bolwing. Well, my day wasn't gonna finish soon heheh i knew. I said Yes and asked them to pick me up. After saying good bye to everyone. I jumped on my friend's car and headed off to Wairau park. There was heaps of my friends there boys and girls. We were playing a few games. The game took long because there were like 5 people in each lane. I was fun though i kept losing. I was good at first but nah the end my score was going down heheh. We were planning to go to Casino but the plan was changed and we decided to go to Thai club. Thought every club and restaurant would close at 12am because of Easter Sunday but nah maybe because we had New Year. The thing is that Khmer and Thai share most of holiday so is the New year day. I was wanting to get drunk tonite but i don't know why I wouldn't get drunk at all. After a few hours of drinking, there was a strip show. because it's a special they hired a strip guy and a strip girl exclusively for the club. Guess what, they girl came to my friend. I was like damn. After a few seconds, she came to me. I was like what was she gonna do to me. Not nervious but curious instead hehe. Guess what she was rubbing her b**bies against my face and then i decided to give her a spank *noti me* and she took off my glasses and put them in between her b**bies and asked me to take them back by my mouth. I was like OK hehe. After my first try I told her that I couldn't do it and she was like "oh boy, i know you can do it". ok i gave it a second try and then i made it. yeah that's it. It was NOT kinda sensual or something but i found it kinda fun in an amusing way. Half an hour later, we had to come back home because we had to go to pagoda at 9am in the morning. well, my friend dropped me off at the hostel at about 3am and I'm writing this post hehe. Well, i really should hit the bed by now couse have to get up early. Well, Happy Khmer New Year to everyone.

Why Sketch?

You branstorm for ideas, make a composition for your painting, design a logo, draw a diagram for your computer program or entity diagram for your new database, design a new website or even write an essay, you should start with a pencil and a paper and you start sketching or scribbling, will you? You and I might know sketching an important process in planning all sorts of things but not why is it so important, right? I didn't know why until a few days ago. This class was talking about the transition from paper to paperless system. To make the story short, later on it came to sketching. I wrote down the note and here are the reasons:

1. Most people are NOT good at manipulating visual image in brains. So, it's a better idea to visualize that image on paper and make changes to it.

2. Sketch talks back to us. It tells us more when we sketch like what we lack of because it can be seen and it's easy to know what is missing.

3. Our short-term memory is very limited. New ideas just pop up in your head and some of them will disappear in short time. Sketching is fast so you can quickly record your idea on a piece of paper before they're gone.

4. Sketch is unfinished product so when it's presented we tend to change it thus it will be improved throught modification. A display that is nicely drawn and colorful to most people, they don't wanna change it because psychologically they think it's a finished product and they tend to skip what is needed to modify.

ALL GREEN

I went to a vege shop, Fruitworld, this morning. After getting groceries I went to the counter and put 'em on the counter table. This girl at the counter looked at the groceries and glanced at me from top to buttom but then She was like "Oh, all green today" and smiled. Hehe first I thought she had a problem with me. I was wearing a green t-shirt and army-texture pants so somehow the pants have green hue tone in it and the groceries I bought were this vege, i don't knows its name, broccoli, and a bottle of kiwi juice. All in GREEN!!!

A Crack On The Sidewalk

We went out to vitnamese restaurant last evening. The food wasn't nice like last time we went to and plus chichi noticed the restaurant certificate with the big letter "D". This D is not good at all. it's not like that DD lolz. Wazi didn't know what the hell was that but until he knew it he still didn't care and so didn't I. Girishee didn't like the food coz there was no curry for him heheh and he kept complaining about this and that. Anyways, chichi like it but she looks kinda sad coz her boo is in Hamilton. For me, i didn't much about the food or restaurant or whatsoever. I just wanna hang out with friends, that's all i'm asking for. But hey, look at the picture. I took that picture on the way from where we parked the car to the restaurant. Actually, I was about to take this photo like a year a go but at the time i didn't have my camera with me. Well, it doesn't look like it was back 1 year ago :( coz the weed totally fills up the crack but lucky enough that the crack hasn't been fixed lolz. One Thing I Don't Like About Nokia N70

I have this Nokia N70 fone for 3 months now. It's like I like everything about it but except one thing. I'm a texting type of person I do heaps of texting comparing to making calls. This is the thing that got me so disappointed about this model of nokia fone, it is related to UI (User Interface). You know when you go to screen where it has items, in list view or grid view. Take message inbox screen as an example. In message inbox screen, there's an indication, which looks like a scrollbar on Window except you can't drag and scroll it like you do with window. This indicator appears when the number of text messages don't fit in one screen. It is very handy it shows you where about you're in the list of messages, you're on top, near the top, middle, close to the buttom, or at the buttom of the list. It also lets you know when you have jump from the buttom of the list to the top. Well, n70s do not have that indicators and it really sucks. When I have a large list of messages I usually get lost.

I'm wondering why they had to strip off this feature from this model. Like this UI element has been introduced in years ago. I saw it since I had my first fone. Actually, I never thought it would be so this important when it was there but now I know how useful it is.

A Millionaire And A Shark Joke

I just found this joke which is really similar to one Cambodian joke that my friend told me a few years ago. Hehehe wondering how could this be. Anyways, I hope you find it funny too. Have a read and enjoy!

A rich millionaire decides to throw a massive party for his 50th birthday, so during this party he grabs the microphone and he announces to his guests that down in the garden of his mansion he has a swimming pool with two great white sharks in it. 'I will give anything they desire of mine, to the man who swims across that pool.'

So the party continues with no events in the pool, until suddenly, there is a great splash and all the guests of the
party run to the pool to see what has happened.

In the pool is a man and he is swimming as hard as he can, and the fins come out of the water and the jaws are snapping and this guy just keeps on going and the sharks are gaining on him and this guy reaches the end and he gets out of the pool, tired and soaked.

The millionaire grabs the microphone and says, 'I am a man of my word, anything of mine I will give, my Ferraris, my house, absolutely anything, for you are the bravest man I have ever seen. So sir what will it be?' the millionaire asks.

The guy grabs the microphone and says, 'Why don't we start with the name of the bastard that pushed me in!'
